Operating efficiency
CHP offer an economically profitable operation.
The systems essentially produce a profit from the generated electricity. It is therefore important that the system is operated as many hours as possible during a year (i.e. that sufficient gas is available and that the produced heat can be used). Payment for the excess electricity exported into the grid is received from the regional utility company (EVU) or the operator of the distribution network (Swissgrid).
Cost-covering payment for exported electricity
Payback times can now be considerably reduced by cost-covering payments for electricity exported to the grid, which can be requested by submitting a respective form to Swissgrid or the local utility company.
As the majority of electricity produced by the combined heat and power unit is used in-house, the operator benefits from reduced electricity costs. The payback period is reduced even further by fiscal depreciation options (approx. 3 to 6 years). Given the long service life of the system, which can be assured by maintenance and repair contracts, a considerable economic and ecological benefit can be expected!
- Payback times from between 3 to 6 years
- Minimum period of use 15 years
- Performance guaranteed through fixed-rate maintenance and repair contracts
